WORKING IN THE SANCTUARY
When words are not enough
In art psychotherapy, sessions are not reliant on verbal communication. It's often difficult to put into words how we are feeling and thinking. Through the creative and nurturing medium of art, I help you to engage with your senses and offer the opportunity to use materials to reconnect mind and body. Art materials help with discharging difficult feelings and exploring deep emotions. I aim to empower my clients to make positive steps in between sessions by providing creative strategies that can be use day to day.

I see my clients as experts in their personal journeys and my role is to facilitate inner growth without prejudice. It is common for it to take a number of sessions for trust to be built between client and therapist. This is especially true if the client is a child. However, once a therapeutic relationship is established, clients will feel comfortable addressing their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

In my garden studio, I offer a safe place for you or your loved one to feel heard, seen and supported during difficult times. A range of art materials are provided - you or your loved one don’t need to bring anything. Any artwork created by you or your loved one will be stored safely and securely at all times. When your therapy journey ends with me, you will take your artwork home with you.
